ADOPTIONS

At Kirkman Area Animal Clinic we do not have pets up for adoption. We are an animal hospital and only provide health and related services. However, there are some instances where a client will ask us to find a good home for one of their pets and we will try to do so by having the pet's profile in this section. If you are interested in becoming the new owner for any of the pets listed here, please contact the Clinic at 407-295-7547 for more information.

We currently have 3 good pets in need of good and attentive homes. If anyone can adopt all 3 of them it would be great so as to keep them together. However, the owner understands this might not be feasible and she is willing to separate them as long as they are going to good, caring homes. Below are their pics as well as a brief write-up their owner made about each one. Please contact us at 407-295-7547 if you require more info and we will gladly put you in contact with their owner.

1-Beamer: I have had Beamer since he was 9 months old. Beamer will be 10 years old on June 1, 2010. He's a mama's boy and loves attention. He loves to play fetch with a tennis ball and loves to snuggle in bed with you at night. He does have food & skin allergies and is currently on 20 mg Prednisone tablets 3 times a week. If adopted, the allergy list will accompany him. During the summer months he loves to be shaved bald as this keeps him cool in the heat. Beamer is a mother hen to the rest of the dogs as well. He will clean there face and ears and gets after them when they are acting up. Beamer has been an awesome companion and giving him up is tearing me up inside. Beamer is very laid back and does well with kids, cats and other dogs. Beamer is a chow / golden retriever mix.

2- Buda: Buda just turned 6 years old on January 11, 2010. I acquired him through a co-worker when he was just 9 months old as well. I taught him how to play fetch as he didn't know how to play and taught him to swim. Now that he loves water - watch out! He loves to splash in the pool or kiddie pool or bath tub if you let him. Set up the sprinkler in the backyard and he will be entertained for hours and hours. He has been the best guard dog out of the bunch. He too loves to snuggle in bed and will nuzzle you for affection. He has big beautiful brown eyes and knows how to use them to get what he wants. He does not like kids (thanks to the neighbor kids tormenting him), cats or other male dogs (except Beamer). He has nipped before but that was my fault as I hovered over him and he does not like that. He also does not do well if you try to wake him from a deep sleep. It scares him and he becomes defensive. He plays well with Baby Girl (our other dog up for adoption) but does dominate over her at times. Buda also loves to run, run, run. Buda is a hound dog mix but we are unsure of the other part.

3- Baby Girl: Baby Girl just turned 4 years old on April 1, 2010. My husband found her eating from a dumpster with a nylon rope embedded around her neck. She was under weight and bleeding from the rope. We got her fixed up and back to a healthy weight in no time. She too is a great guard dog and doesn't like anyone or anything coming into her yard. She too does not tolerate kids well (thanks to the neighbors) and we've never tried her around cats or other dogs (other than Beamer & Buda). She is a strange one as she wants to sleep under the covers with her head on a pillow during the winter and is attracted to heat sources. She is the drama mama in our house as she is always wanting attention and finding new ways to get it. Baby Girl is also a runner and would love a large yard in which she could just go fast. Baby Girl is a dalmatian / pit (we think) mix. She can be stubborn at times and will grunt at you when she's unhappy.
